Seton Medical Center Harker Heights (SMCHH) is an 83-bed acute care hospital opened in 2012 in Harker Heights, Texas offering an array of services such as a Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated Emergency Room, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, a dedicated Women’s Center, Diagnostic Services and more. We provide exceptional care through collaboration with our associates, physicians, volunteers and community partners. Our award-winning staff provides patient care with dignity and respect. We are Joint Commission Accredited, an Accredited Chest Pain Center, and Advanced Primary Stroke Center. SMCHH is a joint venture between the Austin-based Seton Healthcare Family and Nashville-based Ardent Health Services.

Zach Dietze joined Seton Medical Center Harker Heights in August 2012 as Assistant Administrator and was promoted to CEO in December 2016 . Prior to joining SMCHH and Ardent Health Services, Dietze was the Program Manager for ACO Development with the Harris Health System in Houston, Texas. In this role he was responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Harris Health’s Accountable Care Organization Pilot. Prior to this role, he completed his administrative residency with the Harris Health System, one of the country’s largest public health systems. Dietze was raised in Round Rock, Texas and received his Bachelors of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin, and his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He is a fellow of the American College of HealthCare Executives (FACHE).
George Fayer joined Seton Medical Center in 2015, prior to being the interim CFO. Fayer has been with LHP for nearly four years working on acquisitions and divestitures and other projects. Prior to joining LHP Hospital he was the Senior VP/CFO for Wuesthoff Health System in Rockledge FL. In addition he was CFO with HCA at JFK Medical Center, and CFO at Palmetto General Hospital in Miami FL He graduated from University of South Florida with a BA in Accounting, and received an MBA from the University of Tampa.
Mona Tucker began her career in healthcare as a respiratory therapist over 25 years ago, 15 of which have been in human resources. She has led projects such as implementation of a system-wide applicant tracking system.Tucker comes to SMCHH from St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital, part of St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System. She previously served as President of HSHHRA, the local chapter of the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration. She is involved in local and national organizations. Tucker was HR manager at CHRISTUS Health and at Vencor Hospital in Houston. She earned her undergraduate degree from Ottawa University in Kansas and a graduate degree in Human Resources from Ottawa University. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
Don McKay has 35+ years of healthcare management experience in the private sector. He began his career as the Administrator for a multi-physician OB-GYN clinic and remained in that position for 14 years. He also previously owned and operated an Anesthesia billing company, Collection agency and has provided Consulting services to many physician practices. In 1997, he was recruited by a regional hospital system to develop a Management Services Organization (MSO) based in Victoria, Texas. Under his leadership as the Executive Director, this Texas based MSO grew from a start-up organization to a national Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), Human Resources, and Accounting services company providing services to 250+ physicians and 500+ employees in 6 states before selling to a large hospital corporation in December, 2009. Since early 2010, he has held the position of President/CEO of Apex Practice Solutions, Inc., a Texas based MSO which currently provides RCM, Consulting, Coding, Credentialing and Human Resource services to 120+ providers in multiple states and clients include three hospital operating companies with employed physician groups. Don has extensive experience working with Texas 501a not -for-profit medical organizations as well as a strong background in and knowledge regarding multiple PM/EMR systems, practice start-ups, organizational leadership/team building, RCM services, integration of IT services, financial management/KPI’s and long range strategic planning for medical organizations. In early 2012, Don also assumed the role of VP-Physician Practice Management for Wellstone Health Partners in Harker Heights, Texas which is affiliated with Ardent Health Services based in Nashville, Tennessee. He continues to provide insight and direction to numerous hospitals, multi-specialty/multi-site clinic practices, and other medical facilities throughout the country.
Don earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is also a member of Medical Group Management Associate (MGMA) as well as the Texas MGMA. Don and his wife Kelly have been married for 36 years and have two grown children and five grandchildren.
