About HBOT
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a painless treatment that delivers 100% pure oxygen to your body to enhance its natural healing process and strengthen your immune system. HBOT has been proven to promote new capillary and skin growth, increase the ability of white blood cells to fight infection, and reduce local swelling in the area of your wound.
During HBOT, the patient enters a clear, pressurized chamber full of oxygen. The pressure is not uncomfortable or even noticeable to most patients. Patients can read, take a nap, or even watch TV while inside of the chamber. Most treatments last between an hour and a half to two hours. Patients receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy for wounds will typically undergo treatment every day, Monday to Friday, for five to six weeks.
