Seton Medical Center Harker Heights (SMCHH) is an 83-bed acute care hospital opened in 2012 in Harker Heights, Texas offering an array of services such as a Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated Emergency Room, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more. We provide exceptional care through collaboration with our caregivers, physicians, volunteers and community partners. Our award-winning staff provides patient care with dignity and respect.  We are Joint Commission Accredited, an Accredited Chest Pain Center, and Advanced Primary Stroke Center. SMCHH is a joint venture between the Austin-based Ascension and Nashville-based Ardent Health Services.

Administration Team

Mandy Shaiffer

Mandy Shaiffer, RN, MSN, Chief Executive Officer/Chief Nursing Officer

Mandy Shaiffer serves as chief executive officer and chief nursing officer for Seton Medical Center Harker Heights and Wellstone Health Partners. With nearly 20 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, Shaiffer is known for advancing clinical excellence, driving operational performance and fostering a culture of patient-centered care.

Since joining SMCHH in 2021 as chief nursing officer, and later assuming Chief Operating Officer responsibilities, Shaiffer has led transformative initiatives that strengthened workforce retention, improved patient satisfaction, elevated organizational safety, and improved clinical outcomes. Under her leadership, SMCHH achieved key milestones, including eliminating contract labor, improving emergency department throughput for thousands of patients monthly, and earning national honors such as Leapfrog Top Hospital designation, more than 10 consecutive “A” Safety Grades, and multiple awards for quality and operational excellence.

Prior to SMCHH, Shaiffer served as chief nursing officer at Mt. San Rafael Hospital in Colorado, where she helped the hospital achieve a CMS 5-Star rating, and at Five Rivers Medical Center in Arkansas.

Shaiffer holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Administration and Management from Aspen University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University. She is an active community health advocate and serves on local boards dedicated to expanding access to care and improving the well-being of Central Texas community members.

Bodie Correll

Bodie Correll, MD, MBA, FHM, Chief Medical Officer

Bodie Correll, MD, MBA, FHM, became Chief Medical Officer (CMO) on Nov. 1, 2022 after serving as chief of staff and medical director for hospital medicine. As CMO, he will focus on promoting quality clinical processes, enhancing team and patient experience and building a strong bond with patients, caregivers, medical staff and the community. Dr. Correll will also continue to work clinically as a hospitalist

Prior to joining the SMCHH family nine years ago, Dr. Correll worked at Scott and White Hospital as the associate program director, family medicine and as a hospitalist. He graduated with honors from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and earned his medical degree from Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine. Dr. Correll completed his family medicine residency at Scott and White/Texas A&M University and also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Quantic School of Business.

Coby Hauser

Coby Hauser, MHA, Vice President of Physician Services

Coby Hauser, MHA, became the Vice President of Physician Services on February 25, 2024, after serving as the Director of Physician Services. He brings over 17 years of clinical and operational leadership to the team. In his new role, Coby will focus on expanding access points to high-quality patient care across our community while providing an exceptional patient experience.

Coby’s previous healthcare experiences include roles in ambulatory clinics and hospitals throughout Arizona, New Hampshire, Vermont and Utah. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from The University of Utah and a Master of Healthcare Administration from The University of North Carolina.
